Academic
Course recommendations
If you are studying Sport Management then choose the Winterschool which is a really good seminar!!! Good teachers and interesting! If you can avoid Sport Marketing (just the lecturer from England!)cause it´s everything except Sport Marketing...Another thing : avoid "Philosophy of Competitive Sport" (too sleepy!) but you should take Practicum Ball Games because it´s a really good means to learn finnish sports!

Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
There was a great atmosphere. We were placed in appartments of three students, all mixed nationalities, including Finnish. Erasmus is a great for getting to know different habits and cultures from all around the world.

See 4. The quality you get for this price is amazing. In holland i payed almost double for less. The flats consist of three sperate bedrooms, a kitchen, hallway and a large bathroom. There is also a common room, fitness area and a sauna in EACH building.

Personal spending habits
Food is definately more expensive than in Portugal - especially meat and fish. In telephone I spent less here because I use it less than at home. Nightlife is more expensive but I also had more nightlife here than i have at home. I travelled a lot visiting Finland's neighboring countries. Overall, life is more expensive but not as much as i expected.

Well the cimema is expensive but you can find cheaper prices in some students offices; alcohol is expensive but you can´t change it (or prepare your own wine or beer: it´s really common here!) ank return your bottles to save some money!!!! Show your student card as often as you can! When you arrive don´t buy the first postcards you find just wait and find the cheaper (about 1 FIM)...Believe me I know what I´m talking about!!!

In academic terms terms it is a good university. Besides, and most of all, international students are treated very good. Integration is easy.
