It´s the only university in Finland where you can study sports, so there are a lot of active, easygoing people there! The perfect place to study.

As this wasn´t an exchange year for me as a finn, I´m not the right person to tell you about the life as an exchange student... But I got to know a lot of people from abroad at the university and they were all very happy!:) The finns are very helpful and relaxed people, but they not the ones for small talk.

Knowing how to speak english (even not fluent) is enough to survive in Finland. Some can come back from this country after a year without knowing any sentence, because locals deals so good with foreign languages (swedish also official language, almost all fluent in english, even some know german, spanish or french). But to integrate ourself completely inside the local community, and to keep our mind open, it is really good (not compulsory) to try (at least) to learn finnish (in that sence, lectures at the university are very well made, especially the each one teach one program)

The weather is tough and the people seem cold: they are not, just a bit shy.But if you get in touch with them they are great.
