The best nightclub is Gligglin Marlin. It is small but very good. If you go in the semester that goes from january to june you can´t miss The Network ( a huge three days party that takes place in the city and people from all over finland come). The first of may is a huge party as well. Besides if you are a guy i have to say that finish girls are very beautiful.

Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
Because it gives you the chance to be independent and learn to live by yourself. I think it is a very good experience for those who live with their parents in your home country.

The university is in a very nice city which has everything you may need. It has bars, nightclubs, restaurants, shoppings. It has a ski resort, lakes and a sports center where you can practice any kind of sports. You can live where you want in the city and you have different kinds of appartments in differents parts of the city.

I wish I had known that the winter ends at the beginning of May and that at the beginning of January there is very little sun in Finland.

Don't drive too fast because the penalty is very expensive (more than 130 EUR.) Take your skis. Go to Lapland and to Aland Islands.

English is fluent for me. The GBM program has alot of Int. people and Finnish people who lived out side of Finland for their parents work and have English almost as their second native language (like me). So in the program no problem. Out site the program it is a bit harder, but with a dictonary, some Finnish classes (offered by the uni) and English it is in general no problem out site the uni/program
