An absolute must in summer in Graz is parkhaus-this is a bar in the Stadtpark where you can listen to some funky music and meet lots of people. In winter I spent most of my time, surprise, surprise in the irish bars in the city centre.Really though you can meet very nice people here and really enjoy yourself. There is noone better than the irish for partying..I believe that more after this year than ever before.

I recommend that students try to do as much extra curricular activities as possible and to travel as much as possible. And also if you are not homesick then there is no point in going home too often, instead go on a holiday somewhere you have never been, .

Go to Graz as an Erasmus student - you won't regret it, I promise;) It was really the best year in my life. I enjoyed every moment and best of all, now I have so many very good friends all over Europe. And with couple of them we have even managed to meet after Graz!!!

THe problem I found was that all Austrians spoke very good english and that usually when I spoke in german to them I was answered in english. This was quite an annoying thing and I really had to persist in speaking german even when I was answered in english.
