Get the right info on how to commute, to Uni. This one has different campuses and be carefull if you end up on the one which is miles away from anything. The Student Union is a fairly good place to start looking for places to live or where to work,etc... But basically speak to everybody, try to meet people who've been there, done that and the other!

Best pub? Kingston Mill on Monday nights (£1 drinks). Very cozy. Kings Tun (Wetherspoon's) is a chain pub, by the way. Best club? They're all the same, but Oceania was the least skanky of all. Restaurant? Frango's Chicken. A word of advice: Get the (really crappy) student newspaper, SUblime. Sometimes they have free tickets for the Odeon cinema (Friday and Saturday late-night showings only). Be careful on the high street around 9 p.m., but especially after 11 p.m. when the pubs let out. Somerfield's grocery is overpriced. Use Sainsbury's. Dine, at least once, on the river.

This is a very good university, there is a wide range of courses split amongst 4 campuses. You’re guaranteed to have a different experience every time. For the information systems course I chose. There is a perfect balance between software and design. Intertwined with both is business and the opportunity to work with real clients.

Housing
Type of housing: With a family
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: With a family
Why?
Because a room on campus is even more expensive and the facilities are much worse. Moreover, most landlords/landladies are friendly and in some cases provide extra services (mine did my laundry together with hers).

No matter where you stay, it is terribly expensive and places on campus are rare. Only full-year studets are eligible for renting a campus flat.
Travelling times (by bus) can be quite long if you live in lodgings, even though there is a free shutttle service for students.

I really liked the facilities I had at the Residence Hall.My room had a small bathroom and a large study table. The pity thing from my accommodation was the complete lack of cleanliness and collaboration of some of my flat mates.

There are so many international citizens in London, that it is very unlikely that you'll experience true British culture.

The buildlings in the university are falling apart and are unhygienic. However, the residence halls are adequate and the staff at the halls is nice, too. The students don't seem to care much about a student community, and most of them are apathetic in their studies. Just concentrate on the work and soaking it all in, and you'll be fine.
