“Manchester Metropolitan University review based from experience”

Overall
MMU is a good uni especially if you are studying creative subjects.
They have really good resources on and off campus in order to be sufficient in studies. The art school is really open space and allows us to be in a creative space.
The university has studios for photoshoots/ video shoots, free to use for students. With Mac computers accessible around campus, it is easy to work on projects using Adobe.

Housing
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
It would be nice to chose the people you want to share a flat with. Student hall doesn't give one a home-feeling.

Personal comments
student halls are noisy and can be dirty, because nobody there is no cleaning schedule at all. Have seen alot of garbage in the hallway. Shared with three really nice brits, but they keep waking me up with their partying all the time, so I had to move. Postgraduates are more cleaner and quiet, but not as social as undergraduates. The building I'm at, you just get a good sleep twice a week.
The staff here (besides the cleaning staff) doesn't smiles at all and are dreadful to talk with.

In my opinion:
I loved it but I'm not sure everybody would.
Important factors in my choice
(1) Unimportant – (4) Very important
Personal recommendation
The exchange office needs to be more personal and considerate. A couple of people even left as the support wasnt there for their transition into English life.

(1) Never – (4) A lot
Became familiar with another culture
Met people from other countries
Experienced a change in life
Advanced my studies & career
Final comments
If you are an American do yourself a favour and not just hang out with Americans....it reduces your experience by such a huge amount.

Personal comments
No complaints about my department at all. The teachers were understanding and helpful, my coordinator was top. He said right at the beginning that Erasmus students are there to get to know the English culture, way of living, etc., and wouldn't stress academic life too much. Well, you still had to work, tough.. Yes, but they tried to make things easier for Erasmus students.

Overall
I’m currently studying at Manchester Metropolitan University and I’m just finishing my first year. So far, this year has been really good as I made a lot of friends with similar interests as me.
I really enjoy my course , which is Business Management and I feel that it helps me to understand the intricacies of owning and managing a company/business.

Overall
Manchester Metropolitan University provided the perfect balance of modules to choose from. The English degree ranges from language, literature and linguistics. It is the student's free will which decides their avenue of education within the broad area that is English. Furthermore, the choice of questions and focus within these modules allows for further freedom.
