I wish I had known...
I wish I had known that the WindChill effect does effectively exist... I was not prepared to interact in a -25ºC environment... Too much cold for somebody coming from the sunny Spain.

One of the top 10 in the US, and one of the most (if not the most) ethnically diverse in the US. Truly and international university.

Two-day trips to Boston, Philadelphia and Washigton are very interesting if yu can afford it. Try not to stay just in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bronx and Queens have also their turistic and interesting things and places.

“I loved NYU as an undergraduate university”
Juliana C
United States, Undergraduate
Law, 2016
Overall
I graduated from NYU in 2016 with a bachelors of arts in Psychology and it was an incredible experience. NYU's international programs for students who want to study abroad are excellent. I studied in Florence, Italy and made life-long friends while being immersed in Italian culture.

“Horrible experience”

Every single person who works for NYU housing (and Brittany hall, to be specific) is rude and incompetent at their job. When I initially called NYU for housing, I was hung up on three different times by the same telephone worker. I was also told that I wouldn't be able to move in until a week after I was originally told I could move in (resolved but extremely stressful and time consuming as I had to search for alternate expensive housing options). Upon arriving at Brittany, I was roomed with a male (as a female and having put my preference in as female) (again resolved but anxiety-inducing). The upstairs study room is closed permanently for the summer, leaving few spaces to go to relax. My now roommate had no idea I was moving in, and neither of us had any idea we were going to get one more roommate a week later. Staff members, even though there are multiple still at the desk and working, rudely and with an attitude will refuse to get your package after hours. I would recommend NYU dorms to no one; almost every experience I have had has been terrible, and it has only been three weeks.

If you decide to come to NYU you will be joining the most electric and transformative college experience you could imagen. No better place to live in your twenties then NYC. best decision I've made in my life coming to NYU

Like for most things in NYC, you need to be a go-and-getter. Don't expect that the University will cater to you, you need to make things happen for yourself (jobs, apartment etc.).
