Personal recommendation
I strongly recommend this university to not-urban people who don't care so much about the weather!!
They have generous resources, lots of diferent projects and you can easily 'trace your own track'

Don't forget: your self-standing working and living skills, a good temathic 'english-yournaturallanguage' dictionary and also boots (even if you don't like hiking. It can snow a lot!), goretex raincoat, sleeping bag, kompass, snowboard, skis, customs (!), open mind, spirit of adventure... and maybe some wine or other spirit. This is a 'cruel high price' country, specially alcohol, tobacco, meat and benzine!
You will find: Great academical resources, not stressed working enviroment and also wonderful crazy norwegian people, cozy 'kafes', hawaian parties in February, barbaques, student life, international enviroment, tolerance, exceptional breathless nature...

“A good university with a good student life”
Erik B
Norway,
Anthropology, 2021
Overall
I studied at Norsk Teknisk- og naturvitenskapelige universitet (NTNU), at the institution at Dragvoll in Trondheim. It is a decent school, with a focus on well-being of students with a well organized student organization. This provides activities both outside and within the school for students to find friends and enjoy their time when not studying. The teachers and the professors are very structured and help out a lot when studying and aspiring to reach for better grades.

As for food, telephone, accomodation and nightlife Norway is very expensive ... as is Switzerland when it comes to travelling, The only option to get around is by plane or car options that I actually used intensely, and all in all the two major airlines have quite cheap student fares ... thus use the chance. as for trips around Trondheim, sharing a rental car can be cheaper as four bus tickets.
The same applies for cabs: as soon as you are four or more, forget the city transport (it sucks anyway) and call a cab.

Travel:
was more expensive than at home.
Overall, Telephone, Food, Nightlife:
was the same price as at home.
Housing:
was less expensive than at home.
Accessibility of student needs
Second-hand household items
Personal comments
To buy second hand stuff is not really necessary, as there is a REMA 1000 supermarket next door where you find all you need for good prices.

booking train tickets 10 days in advance can make u travel much cheaper, if u manage to buy a "green ticket"

High-level of education combined with a real entertaining social life (student society for instance). Moreover, to who loves to ski and nature, Trondheim is definitely worth it.

Trondheim is 512 kms north from Oslo. But, someway it is quite central in Norway. Therefore it is quite easy to travel and visit most of the country from there.
Moreover, NTNU has many agreements with other universities all around the world. Consequently, not only the life here is international but also it is a good start to get contacts or to spend a part of the studies in an other country.

Housing
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why?
It was very nice living there with all my fellows. The neighbourhood was very nice. And it was the cheapest way of living there although my schoolaship wasn´t enough to pay it.

Personal comments
When I arrived I already had a house because the university found one for me, and this was pretty nice. It was very nice to live with all my fellows arround like a big family. There were some students organizations close to us willing to entertain us. The only bad thing were my flat mates, realy weir people, but I managed and I could have changed if I wanted.
