Odense is a good starting point for travelling, that's for sure. Nightlife is good, you just need to find the right times and places...

Everybody speaks almost perfect English in Denmark - facilitates easy communication, but then again, hard to really learn any Danish.

Odense is very provincial city : almost no "special place" to visit. Few interesting DJ mix nights though at "The Rocket".

The only cost-saving tip I can give is to do the shopping in discounters (Aldi, Fakta...) where one can find food for an OK price
