choose to follow the French Programme if you like to learn something! There is also an english programme, but that's not much of a challenge. Besides you won't learn the French language at all, doing the English programme

I wish that I had improved my french in advance, the french tutorin at Sup Europe is poor and there are not really study books to learn french except for childrens books available in Caen...

Travel, bring car as petrol is cheap.
Make sure you get your cards and accomodation sorted first 2 days.
Banks - Société-Générale near Continent or Crédit Agricole near town.
You cannot pay bills like phone over the counter in banks. Be ready for bills of exchange!!
Mix well with others and friendship will last lifetime!

That I would be billed for having caused a bit of a mess in my corridor at a party! Clean up before they have time to inspect the next day! Also, if I'd known the students have so many barbeques I would have brushed up my cooking skills!

Get involved! Don't live on your own. Chose a flat share. Don't hang around with people from your university - integrate. Sup Europe is great fun!

Don't worry about things before you go. Caen is a lovely wee town and the students are great! Portsmouth is only a ferry ride away and is cheap if you're a foot passenger so it's easy to get to the UK if you fancy a weekend at home. You'll have a great time in Caen!

The first weeks are difficult, you miss your family your friends, different language, culture, etc.. but after a few weeks you won't want to go back... trust me!!
As soon as you arrive, start to plan a trip, see other coutries, with the people that you will know... use the low costs, airplaines, Bus, Train, etc, just check all and see the most advantage for you, and sleep on hostels, bus, train stations... believe me, you will do things that you can even imagine...
The most important thing: HAVE FUN...

To have better management. Some teachers are subjective. It would be better if teachers try to assesed students fairly towards students from every country.
