for those who went to SLU to actually learn spanish, i saw it as a challenge because of the large population of americans at the school. many friends of mine were there for two years and they left knowing just as much as when they arrived...not too much. you have to make an effort to learn spanish because americans are everywhere.

If you are going to attend SLU in Madrid, their are many local cafes and restaurants that surely current students will let you in on. Blended and Tienda Verde are within walking distance, excellent quick lunchs. Rastro (flee market) and Retiro (park) on Sundays are a must! You will know what I mean when you get there.

Saint Louis University - Madrid Campus is perfect for anyone who wants to start college in the american curriculum, and then transfer to the main campus in the US. The relationship between teachers and studends is close, it is very international, and the city is very rich in culture.
