In my first two semister that i had completed in Thailand i phase some problem in language but it was limited to social interaction..still i had never meet with any problem as all Thai people mostly answer you if you communícate with them in English.. Apart from this i am Phasing the language problem right now in Germany which is also limited to social interaction as i dont know why German people doesnt reply when you ask them in english?? But still this is also limited to certain people and places in germany.

I unfortunately could not find a program that both accomodated my academic needs and whose language of instruction was German. I believe, however, that through my daily interactions in the community I managed to improve my German language skills considerably.

I found it difficult to learn German. Most Germans speak excellent English, and my studies were all in English. I was only able to take one semester of German due to time/money constraints. Schiller graduates must achieve at least an intermediate level in a foreign language, and I had already chosen Spanish due to previous studies. If you make an effort to study and practice, you can learn it. I was too involved with my English-speaking fellow students.

I wish there had been more emphasis on learning the local language and interacting with the locals rather than only the students. Since English was the common language and we were all from different countries, we tended to speak only English.
