On arrival the host university places you in temporary accommodation - this is pretty poor and it is best to find an alternative as quickly as possible.

Personal comments
I found France quite bureaucratic which was complicated by the language differences. At university the course was half in French and half in English. Some courses were very difficult due to the technical vocabulary required. However I managed to survive the year!

Course recommendations
Our course was chosen for us by our home university and it would have been better if we could have chosen courses ourselves as there were some interesting ones on offer

I wish I had known...
The fact that this business school is not located with in a student area, it is in the middle of a business park so you have to make a huge effort to actually socialise with french students who come in from along the coast and then go home again (away from the areas where international students live)

Take lots of travellers cheques with you as you cant open a french bank account without an address and this can take some time! (It saves on you being charged commission every time you use an ATM)
