Final comments
Get a car to go around the area. Stoke-on-trent is a dump but a few miles outside the city things clear up and the surroundings are actually very nice. Alton Towers (Britain's largest themepark) is just 30min drive away

For the accomodation if you want to live with international students or people you want to know a minimum before to live definitely with them, the best thing to do is to stay one month or a little more in a shared accomodation via the university facilities then to know people and after take a shared independent house with them
