Course recommendations
The school has an excellent reputation for finance and economics. If your looking to study seriously take those courses, they require a lot of work and study is quite independent and self directed. If your looking to have a good time then take some of the management or marketing courses.

Personal comments
The course readings especially for economics is very heavy. For some courses I was reading around 150-200 pages a week. Apparently its suppose to help you develop skills to filter out unuseful material...I think it was a little too much.

For travel, have alook at www.bugeurope.com before leaving the home university. Plan your travel and buy rail passes in your home country if you are from developing countries. Also, buses and Ryanair are the cheaper options for the travel.

University in general is very good. However, it needs more accomodation near the school. Discount cards paid off a lot.

Personal spending habits
Food prices in Stockholm are very high. In my home country I live at home with my parents, so there is no rent to pay, while in Stockholm I am living in a student room by myself and thus I have to pay a rent (quite expensive). I have been traveling around Sweden a bit and though flight tickets are much cheaper than in my home country I have traveled more while being in Sweden.

Course recommendations
Ask yourself what you want: If you take challenging courses in Finance considerable less time will be left for leisure; courses are demanding and challenging however, you learn a lot. If you rather experience the typical exchange program with an emphasis on social activities and aspects, avoid the Finance courses.

I wish I had known...
"The Swedish way" - a large set of implicit social rules and values, which is affecting locals and their interaction with foreigners substantially. In short - lack of flexibility, novatorism and understanding with respect to foreigners. Swedes - very special people in their own way, a bit dull, too.

Best school for Finance education in Europe, above average level for Marketing and Economics, low quality of Business courses. Generally, a very interesting and rewarding experience. If you come just for a few months or half a year to have fun - it's better to go South (Spain, Italy, etc.): people are more relaxed there.

Every single move costs in Sweden, travel is rather expensive, yet the nature is exclusive - don't think many people have been in the areas of permanent cold and snow..
