Food in mexico is quite cheap, not to mention delicious aswell. If I were studyng at home I would be living at my home, therefore not paying any rent. I also found rent at the residences a little overpriced (especially for Monterrey), however, a lot of services were included.

After about 3 weeks to amonth start eating street food as well. It's incredibly chape and very tasty. also, look out for Michuacan stalls/cafes. They serve a large selection of freah fruit juces and great sladas for chape as well.

Take part in the introduction week they organize for international students one week before university starts. Even if it might get boring after some time, it gives you the chance to get to know the university as well as the city of Querétaro...

Why?

The family that I stayed with was great. I now speak spanish fluentley , know all about meican foods and traditions, and can say that I now have a mexican mother and brother.

Tec offers both a family and residence option. The residences at the Guadalajara campus, are on campus, and thus very far from where many of the other students live (Providencia), the clubs and from the ceter of town.

It ýs a great unýversýty to go to. It ýs very prestýgous and the students are very wealthy. The academýcs are generally not too dýffýcult, but requýre a lot of work.

A lot of people speak Englýsh so ýt ýs not too overwhelmýng ýf you are a begýnner Spanýsh speaker, but ýf you want to speak Spanýsh all the týme, you must ýnsýst upon ýt.

Why?

I lived with three mexican students, I discovered a lot of things, such as the culture, the religion, the way of life. It is the only way to have a total immersion.

I think Mexico is a very interesting country, I met a lot of people, I could shared some emotions, some ideas. I had the chance to live with three mexican roomates and it was a very great experience.
