Housing
Type of housing: A room exchange
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: A room exchange
Why?
Because I like living with more people with my same age. I also think that living alone is very sad, even when you are in a country at the north of Europe, because of the wheather.

In Delft, all the accomodation for foreign students belongs to Duwo. It is like an Organization. In this way, all the students live in similar situation: the same kind of flats, furniture,... every year, since long time ago, I believe. So, to every flat or room from the Duwo you go, you can see that every thing is quite old and already used by many students. I don´t like that. I think that Duwo should check every year its flats and buildings and try to repair everything that needs to be repaired.
My impression is that all the flats, rooms, and buildings from Duwo are like forgotten.

Housing
Type of housing: single's apartment
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: student housing
Why?
The previous arrangement was a single studio room in an entire block of similar rooms. There isnt any chance of social interaction between neighbours which makes life pretty boring. Most of my neighbours are not Dutch, so that defeats the purpose of studying in Holland because i do not get much exposure to the Dutch Culture and no chance at all for a decent cultural immersion and exchange.
I would choose to stay in student housing complex, because there, i get to interact with Dutch students and get to learn more about their culture.

There are very little on-campus housing, most student hosuing are off -campus. The university is helpful in securing housing for exchange students albeit off campus, so there's no worries in that department.

The housing is pretty good, but very expensive. In my case, I live in wonderfull place very close to university and sportcentrum, but the rent is bigger than monthly scholarship. So I have to pay not only for living expanses but also for the apartment.

The housing at TU Delft was controlled by one only company. That got to a sort of monopoly, so they were able to take the decisions they wanted without caring about our opinion. I think it was not good for the exchange students, which didn't know that much about the housing possibilities in Delft and surroundings.

First impression is ok since I stayed in worse places so I am glad with my situation. I am used to living in big cities so it would be better if the room was in Amsterdam.

My home university forgot to send my application for a room, so I got one far off. It was small and dirty, but the people living there were great, which outweights the other aspects
