Housing
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why?
Although the dorms are really outdated and disgusting, they are the best choice. I lived in Einstein and it literally took no more than 5 seconds to get to the main entrance of the university! At first, I was stuck with weird American roomates even though I originally asked to be placed with Israeli or other foreign students. The housing office through the exchange office and Israeli office were very accommadating in helping me find vacancies in other rooms and I was able to then find an apartment with three other Israeli roommates who turned out to be awesome! The dorms are a real social place and I don't know how I would found my friends if I hadn't lived there.

Accommodation is in general expensive in Tel Aviv. Opt for an apartment down town, close to the beach. I can recommend to share an apartment with other exchange students, and you should contact all participants in the exchange program prior to arriving in Tel Aviv.

University strongly recommended independent housing while campus was organized mainly for israeli students or special visitors. It was pretty difficult to get some room there.

It wasn't great by any stretch of the imagination. But it was adequate and the people around me more than made up for it~

the apartment was definitely gorgeous, i loved it and i strongly recomment that if u study for a long term period in israel go to find a flat with or without roomates, it's a whole israeli experience, you have all choice of prices and locations and facilities.

All of the students are there. It's extremely social and like a big party. Neighborhood is great. Very close to campus, the mall, restaurants. Easy to make friends living there.

The dorms are spacious, but not kept up well. The kitchens and bathrooms were not nice. But because I had so much fun living there with my roommates, I didn't care at all.
