Although it's easy to make friends, it's difficult to make friendship with more depth, despite Thai students knowing English. BMIR's administration did not seem to care either way about exchange students. Classes are too long, and teachers, little quality and too critical. Thai educational system is very poor.

If you are coming to Thailand, make sure that you arrange your schedule "light". Do NOT expect too much out of administration, and academics. Advanced classes will be a waste of time and leave you frustrated. If you come to an exchange for Thailand, come for Thailand, not for educational quality of Thammasat because you will be disappointed.

Make higher demands to the students. Maybe have introduction courses in critical thinking before semester starts.

When the course started, we were made sure to see that Dr Chanintira na Thalang had both British and Thai citizenship (as well as her Chanel purse, very very important), and her humble-bragging throughout the course. Really, people go to study so some pompous wanna-be British excuse for a professor would hold them down. Studying? Empowerment? Nah. Why would you want to do well in your university studies? If people like this were in charge of the whole program and administration, it's clear why it's so bad. These people care more about their ego and pomposity than actually imparting knowledge on other students. - Most of Thai professors are just plain bad. Group work is something else. If you do well, you make your fellow Thai students "lose face" which leads to series of petty backstabbing and more gossip. See how you like studying with a bunch of stuck up children who are doing courses you did at your high-school at a university level.
