Take courses which concerns on the local region when possible. This is their strength. I recommend Economics of Selected Asian Countries. Do not take any principle courses. It is too basic.

Take one level higher than you normally would. The local students have to adjust to the way of critical thinking at a university. This "sucks" the life out of the principles courses. The teacher have to drag answers out of local students and much time is spend on this rather than contents.

I did a training in the environmental department of SIIT, and follow the lab class and made experience on my own... i don't have specific recommendations.

When the course started, we were made sure to see that Dr Chanintira na Thalang had both British and Thai citizenship (as well as her Chanel purse, very very important), and her humble-bragging throughout the course. Really, people go to study so some pompous wanna-be British excuse for a professor would hold them down. Studying? Empowerment? Nah. Why would you want to do well in your university studies? If people like this were in charge of the whole program and administration, it's clear why it's so bad. These people care more about their ego and pomposity than actually imparting knowledge on other students. - Most of Thai professors are just plain bad. Group work is something else. If you do well, you make your fellow Thai students "lose face" which leads to series of petty backstabbing and more gossip. See how you like studying with a bunch of stuck up children who are doing courses you did at your high-school at a university level.

Some of the economic courses are on a very high level others are on a low level. its good to look into the courses before your choose.

If you come to Thammasat, come because you want to travel in Asia. Class quality is rather poor, and the length is too long (3 hours per class, 15 minute breaks). BMIR (International Relations department at Tha Prachan) takes itself too seriously. If you take "serious" classes you are likely to be graded harshly and the classes' quality will NOT match whatever knowledge you will get.

If you come to Thammasat, make sure that the courses you pick are "light" so you get some time to travel and enjoy your exchange experience. "Advanced" classes (IR, in my case) were extremely unprofessionally conducted, time-consuming, and grade you get at the end assumes that you have had good teachers.

in Thailand you have to like group work and projects!
