Campo dei Fiori is very overrated, try the big clubs that the locals go to, don't stick with the american bars like The drunken Ship and Sloppy Sam's. Try Alpheus or, if you have a car, the reggae place on the outskirts. Gregory's-on teh top of the spanish staps and to your right is also great.

Course recommendations
Try to get an AA before heading to the school. The basic courses aren't worth the time. Many of the teachers are pretty arrogant. One was teaching for only a semester before he left there. The italian classes, however, are impeccable.

Assign papers, projects, anything that actually requires a student to think. Make sure that the department heads and the teachers are on the same page, so that the class isn't arranged around a book that wasn't ordered and had to be found online or imported from US. Also the book store is a complete joke.

I loved the few language seminars that were given. Afterwards I set myself free upon the city and actually learned much faster on my own. Italian is one of my favorite languages now

Why?
I am a second semester resident student at AUR. First semester, I had the university arrange for my housing. It was dirty, disgusting, and in a dirty neighborhood. I'd never do it again.

Never pick "historic" anything. It's a bad choice. Get your own housing. When you have probelems, the AUR administration is apathetic.
