the architecture cafe at the campus is very comfortable, there you also have internet access (wireless).
many great night clubs such as mint & zapatas (every wednesday ladies night), windows, babyface.
places to travel near shanghai: suzhou (zug 1 std), hangzhou (2 std), nanjing (3 std), and if you have more time you have to visit anhui (huangshan), yunnan, sichuan and xian, and of course the capital beijing.

My recommendation if you have enough of fancy places after a while:
Go to "Logo", if you like small, dark clubs with wonderful combination of life music and minimal house.
