United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA)

I wish I had known about the rushed life in New York. Also about the way people are over there; there was a lot of prejudice in the New York atmosphere and people were really unfriendly, for the most part. But inside my university, it was different as the students were from all over the country. Other than that, I knew what to expect before I went.

Is a military academy focusing on the merchant marine business. If someone goes for other reasons, other than wishing to get involved in this big industry, that someone may hate very much living under a regimental life because he/she will see no purpose for being there taking orders from other senior officers. If ones goal is to obtain any of the degrees that this academy offers, and that it´s ones true vocation, then life is more torelable. A military shcool is not for someone expecting to have a very fun college life; it is not a college thus the living conditions are different to those of a college´s. In this university I attended to, life is extremely stressing, specially because of the heavy academic load.
