I am glad that I chose the oportunity to go to an university where no other german or european students studied while I was there. This was clue to proceed in learning the language that well and fast as I have done. The chilean people are not considerate of the fact that you cannot follow them. They do not speak slowlier or pronounce better, but they are glad when you speak a bit spanish and they offer you help in every ocasion.

Twice a week I attended a dancing course, which was offered by the local community. After classes we always went to a club to practise our just acquired knowledge under real circunstances. We always danced until the owner "forced" us to leave because he wanted to close the club. These nights were the best! I enjoyed it very much.

Housing
Type of housing: Pension
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: With a family
Why?
I liked the pension b/c I had more freedom than a homestay, but I would've liked more interaction with the Chileans I lived with.

Personal comments
Good housing options. Don't go for the dorm option, nothing to write home about.
