Cosmetic things like tooth brushes, shampoo, deo or stuff like that are very expensive and sometimes hard get in comparison to Germany. It´s better to take special things from your home country (like f.e. for the maintenance of contact lenses...). Really cheap and good is the public transport system there. In every city is a central busstation where you can compare prices and schedules between the different agencies.
