Although a majority in Barcelona speaks Catalan, I had no problems at all learning Spanish. Only very few people refused talking Spanish to me and insisted on Catalan.

I had no problems on learning spanish. I loved to go to the movies because they were translated to spanish with no subtitles and I saw it as it was in my language.
