I learned spanish very well and i liked it very much to do so. I used several posebilities to speak the language also in my home country. Problems I had with the catalan. Ich reached a level I could understand the local language but I never really learned to speak it.

Courses are in Catalan and Spanish, but most of it are in Catalan. You need to know before choosing courses, who is the profesor, in order to know if he prefers to speak Catalan or Spanish. By the way, it allows to learn two languages during a year.

as I said in Cataluna there are two languages you have to deal with; local language is catalan which is pretty different from spanish; you do not have to learn catalan, but you will probably have some problems with it; but is worth the city.

Being an Erasmus student I develop my language knowledge from school and I became much more confident in the communications. The university helped me to enhance my abilities and to become more responsible in the team projects.

The local language was the Catalan and therefore it was a bit dificult to speak at the beginning. I chose Barcelona to improve my spanish knowledge but finally I improved my spanish knowledge and I also learnt the catalan.

Before I went to Spain I knew some words, very basic. When you having courses in Spanish, yo uhave to learn it. The same with your social life, television, everything. I think there is no better way to learn a language !
