Madrid is the city that never sleeps. In the first semester, try to go to the erasmus meeting to make good friends then you'll quickly discover that there are 1000 of spots to go out. Cool zones include : Huertas (cerca de Sol), it's known as the tourist zone but spanish people go there too. - Torre de Europa, close to the Bernabeu stadium and Avenida del Brasil - Malasaña for a younger ambiance - Kapital, the huge club, close to the "Atocha" metro My fav places are: Gabana 1800, Torero, Touché, Ludwig, Tequila, Joy eslava...so much places !!

Depending on the type of club you like. I recommend Gabanna - private members club; Cool - excellent vibe and people; Coyote - excellent;Space of sound - the music, vibe is absolutely amazing here, you have to try it at least once when you are Madrid. This club should have more recognition on the International scene because its not in Ibiza, New York or London its underrated. I think its much better than Ministry in London! I love partying in Madrid....you can rave from Friday through to Monday afternoon - I have! I now do PR for the club Coyote.

Madrid had an amazing number of clubs, café!!Cafes are really nice and cosy in Chueca (Acuarela, La Sastreria), a lot of people are around Malasana, Alonso Martinez. If you like salsa, like I do!, so do not miss el Empire (Sunday&Monday), el Tropical House on Wed. Hip Hop is really nice Wed in Bash line! Thursday, let's go to have a look at the Joy, nice dance music! At the Cafe de la Palma, you will always have nice atmosfere with good music!

The disco's you find next to Puerto del sol are amazing but they are of course very touristic AND expensive. It is ok for those who have money and to go out in those places once a week. (Capital, el Sol, Pacha, Palacio, ...). Then you have a lot of bars near Puerto del sol. And for the 'chocolate' you have to go to chueco and surroundings. Young students you can find in Moncloa but it is not the atmosphere i preferred.

You don't have to miss to go to a concert with different artists if you like listening music. The ambiance is so good and you can find out that you like a national artist. And if you buy his album, listening to it after the erasmus period is going to be a so great souvenir. I recommend too to attend to a football game because of the amazing ambiance. But I don't have a special cafe to recommend because there are so many and you have to try it all.

It's already five years since I've been there and thinghs might have changed, but anyway I reccomend you not to miss the pubs and bars at Avenida de Brasil. Try also the evergreen "Fontana de Oro" at Puerta del Sol. For a sangria night go to "Cuevas de sésamo".
