Personal comments
Spanish culture involves having a extense social life.Going to a cafe or a bar on a daily basis is a basic way of life in Spain. I was already used to such a culture after having already lived in Argentina in the past. My favourite "barrios" in Madrid are La Latina, Malasana, Santiago Bernabeu and Huertas. Each of these neighborhoods has its own style and character. In malasana and La Latina bars and people were more bohemian, while in other areas I would encounter academics and working professionals.

Personal recommendation
ICADE has a good reputation in the Spanish-speaking world (that must be around 1 billion people !), so it's great if you plan to work in one of these countries. But its rules are sligtly outdated, maybe because it's a Roman catholic institution. If you're a marxist, go somewhere else : the teaching has a strong right-wing political orientation.

Final comments
Try to find accomodation in the city centre, the best thing is to share a flat with other students.

Course recommendations
Universidad Pontificia Comillas offers a wide range of courses. Many of these modules are not provided at other universities. These courses vary from Official Protocol in Foreign and Corporate Affairs to Global Business Negotiations. These modules will boost your personal abilities rather than enhance your academic knowledge. Courses involve a small number of students which helps to create a more personal relationship with the professor.
