I wish I had known...
I wish I had known not to ship my clothing before I had left via boat. It took forever. Should have shipped by air.

Personal recommendation
If you want to live in a small city with a good amount to do this is a great place to choose. It was on the smallish side for me, but the beaches were great.

I had a great time studying abroad and learned an incredible amount about Spanish culture and my language skills improved ten fold. I think it is the only way to truly know a language. Take advantage of travelling...it's a great adventure.

Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
I prefer to live in an apartment and maintain a high degree of independence. This Apartment I can then share with fellow students, if possible of different nationalities. Next to being able to share costs, exchange experiences and study jointly, it makes the semester even more enjoyable and facilitates the integration into the new environment. Given this, the learn-effect, from an academic and personal point of view, is very high.

The university did not have student housing facilities on campus. As finding a suitable housing in Cádiz in general is very difficult, it is rather difficult for the university administration to give more help than the usual.

La universidad de Cádiz es un centro donde ofrecen diferentes recursos y herramientas para que puedas ir formándote de manera eficiente de manera profesional. Para mi gusto debería de haber más tiempo de prácticas que permita al alumnado formarse aún más como profesional

The nightlife is awesome, the people are friendly, it is inexpensive, and the weather is perfect like a paradise. However, it is a small city and can become cumbersome at times. Also it is hard to travel to and from Cadiz.

Rent a car. Don't be afraid to drive in Spain and it is so much nicer to take a car with a few friends than to figure out bus schedules.

Housing and living costs are VERY low in Cadiz. You can get a good apartment in the old town for around 180 Euros a month and bills only come to around 30 Euros every 3 months. However, mobile phone costs are abominable and the nightlife tends to be extremely expensive. Particularly considering the price of beer at the local supermarkets!

Gaditanos tend to throw a lot of furniture onto the street. don't be fooled, most of it is still in good nick. Be careful of areas with lots of dogs though..
