Overall

Everybody loved it, you will too!

Personal recommendation
It's a great place, should be a first choice for everyone, of course everyone says that about everything they love. At least you can assume that it's a sure bet, although fun is possible everywhere.

Personal spending habits
In Spain everything is cheap but nothing is free (apart from tapas) so mobile phone offers are lacking. I was charged about 15% for 2 months everytime I topped up my phone. I spent more on travel because I travelled more. But it was cheaper than travelling in the UK.

I used 'Telebanco' cash machines which billed me in pound sterling so that my British bank didn't charge me (apart from the exchange rate).

Overall

Final comments
Go on the organised trip to the Sierra Nevada in Jan/Feb with the sports department of the Uni. Very cheap, all inc. Great fun!
Nearest beach is salobrena then almunecar. Not beautiful, but beaches nonetheless.
