This is a nice opportunity to get to know many other students from many other countries. You learn about several cultures instead of only the Spanish culture.

Finding housing in Granada was really easy. On telephone boxes people hang up advertisments for free rooms. I visited about 3 rooms before I chose one.

I was expecting the family to be more interested in me and my culture but I felt more like I was a boarder and they had me for the money

try not to buy a cellular phone because it will be your biggest expense of the year.

The accomodation had nothing to do with the university. This was a private renting agreement (ie I looked on the lamp posts at the hundreds of adverts and hoped that one was available). I was lucky - my flatmates were wonderful.

I basically spent ALL my money traveling and it was completely worth every cent/peseta!! But being in the south of Spain everything is much less expensive that the US or Northern Europe.
