In the beginning it was a bit hard to understand people especially when they used a lot of slang words, but after a while I got used to the andalucian accent. My speaking skills definitely increased a lot during this year.

In southern Spain, they have a distinct accent in the way they speak, but after hanging out with a few Spaniards for a month, you can pick it up quickly.
