Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - I had no other choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
I should have managed to get a room in a flat with more people than just another student. It would have been more fun staying at home and home decisions would be easier

Personal comments
Salamanca is a really easy city to look for a flat or a room since it has a long tradition with foreign students. The University has a website with all the ads but it's also very often to see leaflets at public buildings.

I feel that my language would have improved better and more quickly had it been easy to integrate more easily with the local Spanish students. Howver, this was hard in Salamanca, as the local students are very tight knit. Learnt a lot though with my European friends, and we all spoke spansih to eachother.

The cost of living in Spain is generallya lot cheaper than in England. You can save money on public transport with a 'bono bus' pass. Although walking is what most students use because Salamanca is so small.

There are several guides which quite good. In winter, the weather is quite cold. Do not forget your health insurance. Travel around and go to Gibraltar: clash of cultures. A semester is good enough to improve your language skills.
