There are several guides which quite good.
In winter, the weather is quite cold.
Do not forget your health insurance.
Travel around and go to Gibraltar: clash of cultures.
A semester is good enough to improve your language skills.

I travelled in the south of spain it was wonderful , i was in portugal because it was not very far away from salamanca , i went to madrid . it is not expensive to travel in spain with bus but sometimes you can spent 6 hours thereit is so long

This is a very good program for learning/improving one's spanish language. I also recommend staying with a family instead of the Residential life.
