La Universidad de Santiago ofrece una buena formación en el campo científico y de ciencias de la salud debido a la gran implicación del profesorado en la actividad investigadora, que es posible debido a la presencia de grupos científicos punteros en los distintos centros de investigación que posee la universidad (CiMUS, CiQUS, CiTIUS, CRETUS...). En general, el nivel del profesorado es bastante alto.

Accommodation in Spain is cheap compared to the U.S. I got to live with other Spanish students. I had the freedom to come home when ever I wanted and I could cook for my self. I also got to live in the beautiful old section of town.

If you live in the old section beware that the heat and plumbing are not always the greatest. I have not seen the campus accommodation but I'm sure it's fine. In Santiago you can walk anywhere, so location is not really a problem.

So many bars, just walk in the 'zona vieja' and choose the overcrowded ones!
So many cafés just walk in the zona vieja
Events in la plaza del obradoiro or in la quintana (concerts,dances...)the magostos (november),the Nunca Mais political manifestation, San Juan (june), and all the festivals 'cortosmetraxes' (cine, july), en pé de pedra (june), the 25th of July is Saint James look at the sky!!And visit all Galicia it's beautiful!!!

El grado de Biología de Santiago de Compostela es duro pero se sale muy preparado de la carrera, con conocimientos de todo tipo. Lo duro que es se compagina con una vida en la ciudad con muchas opciones culturales y con muchas oportunidades de aprender idiomas o destrezas a través de la unión de la universidad y la ciudad.

Twice a year is insufficient! And the dates are always so concentrated in such a few days!!! All students say the same, they would like to have more possibilities, simply to organize better their studying time.

The historic part of the city is wonderful, especially at night: it's full of pubs (1/40 inhabitants), full of young people, full of life. By day it's interessant to visit celtic remains: Castro Baroña, cerca de Noia (w/bus); "Pico Sacro", from where you have a wide view on all the galician lands; and the "Parque Natural Dunas de Corrubedo", Corrubedo, where you can also bath and stay on the wonderful beach.
