Be prepared to buy your books at local bookstores. When I was there, there wasn't a "bookstore" on campus. Enjoy the cafe that's in the University. Great cafe con leche, tea, and snacks!!!!

Have fun. The feeling of homesickness does go away. I'd definitely recommend staying a whole year. Make sure you have experiences of eating real Spanish food. That's something I missed out on a bit moving into an apartment. Luckily, one of my friends lived w/someone who was glad to have guests.....a few of us went over there for a full multi-course Spanish lunch quite a few times. When I was traveling over the Winter break, and bought souvenirs, I found it was helpful to mail some stuff directly home to the States from where I was (Athens).

Its very different to Universities here, I would recommend it but be warned the couse (Engineering at least) is very difficult. It may be possible to give yourself an easier ride elsewhere.

For learning Spanish it may be more advisable to go somewhere further North. The accent is sometimes absolutely unintelligable in Seville. However the city is amazing and must be seen.
Try very very hard to make friends on your course, it will be hard due to the language barrier and the fact that most students won't live near you but coursemates are vital to passing the exams.

university of sevilla is a good place, i think sevilla as a city is wonderful too, but i don´t really recomend the university if you are really in the mood to study and learn a ton, unless you take classes through the university instead of classes for foreigners.

“Máster en Traducción e Interculturalidad”

Translation/Interpretation, 2023
Overall

Marina C
Spain, Undergraduate
Psychology and Behavioural Sciences, 2020
Overall

If you stay on campus for the full academic year (not like the 5 months I completed), you have a much wider range of subjects available to you to study. If I found something for improvement, it's that the computer/internet to student ratio should be increased. Coming from a very well equipped uni in Ireland, Seville's facilities seemed lacking.
