“Old-fashioned University”

Valoración global
My passion for languages led me to enroll in Foreign Languages and Cultures - Business Curriculum. The courses provided me with in-depth knowledge of English and Spanish and helped me develop important Marketing skills. The University of Urbino is one of the oldest in Italy and the characteristic style of the medieval city centre is a constant reminder of its history. The campus buildings are quite old but elegant in their own way. The services provided are often insufficient and below average, especially when compared to other more technological and advanced campuses. Participating in the Ersamus Exchange Program was an incredible opportunity to further develop my skills. I studied one year at the University of Essex, in Colchester (UK)

A favor
Great town, rich of history. Good courses and good connection with other universities in Europe for exchange programs
En contra
Old buildings and libraries, poor services.

You try and hang out with Italians at the start but just forget it. You stick with the foreigners and you have a great time.

I loved it here. The only complaints I heard were that some people said it was too small, but everyone got over that straight away and I can't wait to go back.

Urbino is a beautiful, renaissance town, built on a steep hill, difficult to get to, but so worth it. The University stops the town from becoming a massive museum, and the foreign students especially. It's so much fun being a student here. You go out as much as you like, the uni lets you off with anything and you get to spend time among incredible, historic surroundings, having the time of your life.

You certainly need to be organised and prepared for a sometimes strange and caotic unoversity system

I would go but be prepared to be a bit lost at the begining but if you stick with it you will have a fantastic year.

Best thing I can say about it is I didn't want to go home. It's a wonderful experience and it will always stand to me.

Estudios
Recomendaciones de cursos
I only did French classes and the Italian course for foreigners. French was pretty cool, teacher went easy on us because she knew we were foreign and the Italian course was well taught.

Academic life isn't important on Erasmus. Foreigners who do exam always get great marks without making any kind of effort. It's very easy.

Caffe degli Archi in Piazza della Repubblica shows the rugby and Premier League football. Mackia and Glamour are the 2 clubs - Mackia is much better than Glamour though. The Bosom pub is awesome. Karaoke on Tuesday's in Portico is great fun. El Piquero is pretty cool too. The best thing is that it's all so cheap. €2.50 for 660ml bottle of Peroni in Caffe degli Archi. It's a small town but the night spots are really cool.
