Caffe degli Archi in Piazza della Repubblica shows the rugby and Premier League football. Mackia and Glamour are the 2 clubs - Mackia is much better than Glamour though. The Bosom pub is awesome. Karaoke on Tuesday's in Portico is great fun. El Piquero is pretty cool too. The best thing is that it's all so cheap. €2.50 for 660ml bottle of Peroni in Caffe degli Archi. It's a small town but the night spots are really cool.

Housing
Type of housing: University halls of residence
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
The Halls are decent because most of the other Erasmus students live there, but it's a bit out of the way and I reckon a flat inside the city walls would be the way to go

The Halls are fairly basic but they're cleaned every day and there's a cheap meal available at lunch and dinner. There are 3 wings, each 6 to 9 floors deep, so if you're down on the 8th or 9th floor, getting back up to the top can be a treck. If you're with Erasmus people it's good for socialising. If you're with Italians (like I was) it's not so great.

Other sources of funding:

Personal spending habits
Everything's cheaper in Urbino. When you get to big cities (Milan, Florence, Venice, etc) the price jumps hugely but in Le Marche it's cheap as chips.

When you go out, go to Caffe degli Archi and have some bottles of wine to start you off. It's cheaper, gets you drunker and it's so cool sitting in the piazza with your mates just drinking, chatting and watching the world. Obviously drinks in clubs are far more expensive.

Academic
Course recommendations
I only did French classes and the Italian course for foreigners. French was pretty cool, teacher went easy on us because she knew we were foreign and the Italian course was well taught.

Academic life isn't important on Erasmus. Foreigners who do exam always get great marks without making any kind of effort. It's very easy.

I wish I had known...
You try and hang out with Italians at the start but just forget it. You stick with the foreigners and you have a great time.

I loved it here. The only complaints I heard were that some people said it was too small, but everyone got over that straight away and I can't wait to go back.

Final comments
Urbino is a beautiful, renaissance town, built on a steep hill, difficult to get to, but so worth it. The University stops the town from becoming a massive museum, and the foreign students especially. It's so much fun being a student here. You go out as much as you like, the uni lets you off with anything and you get to spend time among incredible, historic surroundings, having the time of your life.

I learned plenty of new slang words and some dialect as well. The accent in Urbino is very clear so understanding was never a problem.
