Get to know natives (if possible, who own cars) - they are the best insiders and can show you around the most interesting spots outside the town (since the most interesting bars and cafes are outside the town). "Byron" is not the only solution, there is always an alternative!

The city is limited with it comes to nightlife. Every Tuesday at Byrons there was an erasmus party, which was usually interesting! There is not a lot of places for students, especially erasmus students unfortunately.

When i was in Bergamo there were no clubs in the city centre and you had to get lifts to the out-of-town clubs as there are no taxis! There are some nice late night cafes like 'lunetta' but even the out-of-town clubs aren't great!
