I found that the cost of living in Germany was overall lower than in the UK, housing and food costs were significantly lower. Whilst in Germany i also took the opportunity to travel to numerous destinations throughout the country and also Europe and the travel costs were also lower. For local travel, u recieve a ticket that allows you to travel on local transportation within a certain radius for free, this was a great benefit.

“Very demanding but motivating”
Jan L
Germany, Undergraduate
Statistics, 2019
Overall
The campus is very nicely structured. Most of the lectures are on the main (north) campus. Every lecture theater is in walking distance. Students are very friendly and teachers nice and helpful. Classes are most of the time quite small, so you get to know everyone very quickly.
The level is pretty high but it is very motivating too. I like to study here and would recommend it to anyone who thinks about joining TU Dortmund.

When someone is going abroad, should not miss the opportunity to travel as much as possible. Traveling helps in learning the local habits, new places and cultures. Foreigners should not be afraid of asking for help!
