The money received were enough. There are no tips for dayly expenses, the prices are quite uniform. Oh, yes, every
supermarket has a day of discounts: not all the time you find what you need but things for daily use are not bad.

My expenses for these categories was less mainly because of the lower cost of these services in the host country. I was a tourist and I had to travel in order to know better the country and the transportation costs were higher. Telephone costs were also higher because I had often to call abroad (home).

I found that the cost of living in Germany was overall lower than in the UK, housing and food costs were significantly lower. Whilst in Germany i also took the opportunity to travel to numerous destinations throughout the country and also Europe and the travel costs were also lower. For local travel, u recieve a ticket that allows you to travel on local transportation within a certain radius for free, this was a great benefit.

By opening a bank account in the host country, u save the cash withdrawel costs when using cash maschines that would be applicable were your home account was used.
