It is worth to take a taxi when you're 4 people because it ends up being the same price than the tram/bus ticket at night.

Bars/Pubs: "1516 Brewering Company" (drink and eat, in the city center, near the Opera), "Fischerbräu" (near the student hall "Haus Doebling"), "Charlie P's Irish Pub" and "Maximilian" near Votiv Kirche and University. "Das Mobel" - have special "hangover" breakfast buffets on Saturdays and Sundays, and you can sit and eat all day for one price! Also "Shebeen", very international, and very good Cocktails. Another one is "Weinbar", which is a very local place where they only serve wine and everyone throughs their peanutshells on the ground.

Universität Wien has got a housing service for students which works really well. They have rooms in a lot of residences near the university, most of them are quite modern and comfortable.
