Personal comments
it is very hard to be active without the German Language. you must read and speak every day with any one when you have the chance. be sure that you are better than the others because you know their language and they do not know yours. try to be alwayse in connection with your study partners it will make your life easier

Overall
The University of Vienna lies in the heart of the city. You can easily reach it via public transport. Even though there are thousands of people in the campus each and every day, the wide-ranging area provides students with quite and lovely spots to hang out while having a break from the ongoing rush hour.
As tremendous and impressive the building itself is, however, as relaxing is the atemosphere in the cafés and parks surroundig the complex.

Pros
You won't need a student loan to study in Vienna
Cons
As it is a public university, sometimes classes are pretty dense.

Night spots : Sophien Sale (huuuuuge!), Maria's Roses (nicely decorated with roses), Havana Club (in a palace downtown Vienna), Places not to be missed : Onyx (located in the Haas House, chic and expensive, but you can see famous people from time to time), Sacher Hotel (order the Sacher torte! to get in take the side door...you will be better welcomed than if you get in through the front door) Events not to be missed : university Ball, City Hall Ball (you have to know how to dance the walz) Best cafe : Central Cafe

Personal comments
I lived in Pfeilheim (a student hostel) in a double room. The location was great, you could walk to the city centre. But I had to share the toilet and the kitchen with other 30 people, who lived on my same floor. It was always very noisy and you couldn't learn concentrate and learn properly.
