Louvain-la-Neuve is close to Brussels, which is the capital and the heart of Europe and there are a lot of opportunities to travel and to discover more things about the European Union.

Personal comments
The local language is the same: french, but you can learn flemmish (second official language of this country; spoken in the north). Speaking Flemmish is an important criteria if you want to work in the management field in Belgium. Concerning english language, speaking it during the course helped me not loosing what i learned in Sweden.

Overall
Louvain-la-Neuve is a city that was built in the 1970s to accommodate the French-speaking students expelled from the KUL. This very special "student" city is therefore the youngest city in Belgium and one of the few cities with such an extensive pedestrian area.
