In my opinion:
Most people loved it.
Important factors in my choice
(1) Unimportant – (4) Very important
Personal recommendation
Consider selecting a few third year courses- that way you'll be put into smaller tutor groups studying a specialist subject that you're really interested in. Also, making the extra effort to join societies is really worthwhile.

Overall

Personal comments
Dorms organised by Lyon III were extremely expensive. We had to organise hosting by ourselves, which wasnt very easy.. Frenchs werent very helpful, knowledge of English very poor and conditions of renting-terrible (huge bond, 1 year rent, letters, papers, French citizens...)

Expenses
Main source of funding:
Family
Other sources of funding:
An ERASMUS grant
Work opportunities:
I worked during my study abroad experience
Personal spending habits
Living standards in France are very similar to UK so I did not find much difference in terms of expenses. It also depends on where you stay, therefore Lyon being a big city you would expect it to be more expensive than smaller towns.
