The cost of housing in Paris is extremely high! Basic food items from the supermarket on the other hand are cheaper.

Banks! You have to be very cautious, French banks like to charge you for anything they can think of. When I cashed my Erasmus grant cheque, which was issued in Pound Sterling, they made me pay about 15% of its amount in charges (convertion, provision, the fact that I cashed it, etc...) The nightlife in paris is said to be expensive, but it doesn't have to be. Go to the bars that got a little dancefloor during the week (like Favela Chique at Republique, Latina Cafe Champs Elysees, etc). At the WE there are othercool thingks to do like the Rollerblading Parade Friday nights! And it's all for free!

The food was excellent and with a huge variety. The nightlife was good, but nothing compare to the greek. The travels were easier, cause of the train system of France and the cheap tickets through Internet.

In France, there is a governmental organization named "KAF" which funds the students according to the money the pay to their housing. I was paying 250 euros monthly and KAF was giving me 100 euros monthly, so that was GREAT!

We did very well from our Eramus grants, so there was no problem. Make sure, when you are looking for places to stay, that the landlord will sign your CAF form. Some are dodgy and won't. DO NOT pay accomodation charges before you sign a contract. Places like LOGEKA are a real rip-off and charge you 100€ just to see their database of appartment offers.

Generally speaking life in Paris cost twice than in Spain. Furthermore I liked to speak frecuentely with my family so the cost of calls was considerable.

There are many nightclubs and puts where you can enter for free, also there are many events which you can go for free. For example 1st Sunday of each month is a free museum entry! (such museums like Louvre!)
