For cheap food,` try Lidl on rue Siffert. cheap food and there's a laundry mat just next door. Nightlife is more expensive because I went out more! All the time! Travel was more for obvious reasons, and telephone was less because I bought a cell phone with rechargeable cards. the best way to go.

ATM/Debit cards from home work just fine in France. You could bank right from home but you are required to open a bank account in France. Open a bank account at the Banque Populaire right downtown on rue des Granges--and go to Patrick. He's very helpful if you are polite and nice and try to speak good French.

Because at home I don't often go and visit friends at other universities. Whereas I've used this year to explore France, visiting friends down south, and also given Besançon's location I've managed to see a bit of Switzerland and Germany too.

I spend much more than at home. These 5 months were like a holiday for me, and then I do not have the feeling to save money etc. Furthermore, I travelled a lot which wa sexpensive and I saved a lot of money because I was looking forward to this exchange for a long time and I wanted to do almost everything I could.
