Why?
during my Erasmus, I lived in a campus; but now i'd choose an apartment because, even if is more expensive than a room in a campus, there is more space and is cleaner.

my host university found me the housing in a campus;this campus was very close to the center of the city. the room was little and i shared with others students the bathroom and the kitchen.for these reasons i'd prefer an apartment.

Why?
In an apartment you have more facilities and you share them only with your housemates (kitchen, refrigerator, bathroom, living-room). It also gives you the chance to live with other foreign students more closely and you have more space.

Personal comments
The University residences are cheap but far too simple and rooms are quite small. Given the amount od foreign students, it´s necessary to find housing several months in advance.
