I wish I had known...

That French was not the language of the majority.

Being a student at this university was sometimes difficult and frustrating. Nevertheless, I am very glad that I went. It was a really worthwhile experience, and I had the added pleasure of seeing a volcano in all its glory.

Final comments

Take comfortable walking shoes or hiking boots. There are many wonderful trails to follow. Try to arrive when other students are on campus to direct you to shops etc...otherwise you'll spend hours trying to find amenities on your own, as my friend and I did.

The Indian Ocean, is always the Indian Ocean! For someone interested in studying a little bit outside Europe, with the eramus project, it is the perfect choice!Especially if you are interested in tropical biology, like me!

“L'ennui à son maximum”

Overall

La vie étudiante est à son point mort, il est très difficile de faire des rencontres car rares sont les événements favorables à la convivialité. Les formations quant à elles sont faites pour trier entre les bons et les mauvais élèves au lieu d'améliorer les compétences de ceux qui le veulent vraiment. Le seul point positif a été la facilité avec laquelle j'ai pu étudier un an à l'étranger.
